Well it was more like 80 odd miles but who’s counting! One of the more disappointing aspects of Friday nights computer issues was that the machine which wouldnt work was the one with the hard drive and so no hard drive, meant no sneak peek at a new beta of the Kick Off 2 Competition Version. 😦

However, they say necessity is the mother of invention…or in this case, the impetus to go onto GumTree and I managed to find not only an A1200 but also it’s monitor plus a load of old Amiga Power magazines – in pristine quality for £50!

Kudos to the couple  who sold it to me, they must have been round late 60’s, early 70’s but apparently the old guy had been playing games on it all day. I did ask if he’d played Kick Off 2 but sadly he hadnt (never rule out an opportunity to try and recruit new players!

Got the new kit home and it works a treat it must be said. With my existing A1200’s they’ve always had some kind of problem as soon as I’ve brought them, so touch wood, this will give me a few years before little things start happening.

As for the CV, I can’t say too much but what I can say is that it’s great as always and in this version, if you thought he book of KO2CV was indeed over, then thing again. It’s had a load of extra pages, chapters, layers etc. added to it that will make for some exciting developments in the future and even more talking points post game!

  1. Congratulations on all those Amiga Power magazines. Those are great even today. 😀 I liked them being honest in their reviews of games and of course the humor back then. Also congrats on the 1200. 🙂
